Dear visitors, welcome to the Museum of Czech Literature’s official website!
The Museum of Czech Literature is a state-funded institution established to conduct scientific research in the field of Czech literature and the book culture dating from the 18th century up to the present, and to register an artwork collection. The MCL acquires, amasses, preserves and opens to the public collections of museum character. The MCL carries out numerous cultural projects; since 1965, it has been co-organizing the competition ‘The Most Beautiful Czech Books of the Year’ with the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
The website contains the complete information about the MCL collections and fonds, as well as about activities and services, the Museum departments, important science-and-research and presentation projects, contacts to individual workplaces and staff. What is more, a regularly updated section ‘News’ provides invitations to events, exhibition opening evenings, conferences and the MCL seminars held in the Czech Republic and abroad.
