Information for researchers
Access to archival records held in the MCL Literary Archive for researchers is subjected to conditions set by Act No. 499/2004 Coll. on Archiving and Records Management and on the Amendment of Selected Acts as amended (full version of Act No. 309/2009 Coll. and Act. No. 329/2012 Coll.; Act No. 101/2000 Coll. on the Protection of Personal Data and Amendment to certain acts; and to the MCL Literary Archive Research Set of Rules (Badatelský řád Literárního archivu PNP; in Czech language only).
In compliance with valid acts and regulations only such archival records in the LA Research Room should be accessible that are over 30 years old; they have been already processed; contain no information that could violate the right to protection from unauthorised interference with privacy when made public; their physical condition does not contradict access; furthermore, only applicants who comply with requirements for access determined by a special law regulations should be allowed access to the archival records.
Material that has not been processed (data on processing the relevant group is available in The Guide to the Literary Archive Fonds) should be loaned exceptionally when permitted by the Literary Archive Department Head only. Archival records are parts of fonds and collections. Their contents are provided in:
- The Guide to the MCL Literary Archive Fonds published on the MCL LA Internet pages (available only in Czech language);
- printed inventories to fonds available for study in the MCL LA Research Room;
- online electronic database ‘Badatelna.eu’ that contains text of processed fonds inventories and information on all fonds.
