The Museum of Czech Literature (MCL) performs the function pursuant to provisions of §10, Section 6, Act No. 122/2000 Coll. on the Collections of Museum Character Preservation and the Amendment of certain other acts as amended.
The Museum of Czech Literature has been instituted to conduct scientific research in its field, to amass, to permanently preserve, to register, and to professionally process collections of museum character, to provide the public with access to collections, specifically the collection of records concerning the development of literature and book culture in the Czech lands, including the records that relate to lives, work and legacies of prominent figures of Czech literature and the book culture that dates from the 18th century to the present day; and to the collection of visual art works.
The collection is compiled on a scientific base and the MCL’s own conception of the Collection Plan; it is administrated in accord with Act No. 122/2000 Coll. on the Collection of Museum Character Preservation, the Amendment of certain other acts as amended.
